People's Assembly for Popular Education & Liberation: Summer School Program Update (tags)
With LAUSD cuts to summer school programs already in effect, a community of activists, teachers, parents and concerned citizens have held summer school for grades K-12 in front of LAUSD's Administrative Headquarters at 333 South Beaudry Street. While attendance was small, and kept that way for symbolic purposes, we are ready to move to a different location, one that will accommodate more students and parents. But we need your help!

Possible Fraud inside LAUSD construction contracts (tags)
African Americans were to receive approximately $15 million in construction contracts, based on a report issued by the Los Angeles Unified School District Small Business Program. These contracts were awarded, but not to African Americans.
Email or letter writing campaign (tags)
The Los Angeles Unified School System (Facilities Services Division), has only awarded $8 million in construction contracts to African Americans. But $78 million in construction contracts were awarded to Hispanics, and $61 million to Asian/Pacific Islanders.
