Papalaki at papadalas na mga kilos-protesta ng mga kabataan. Umabot sa mahigit 5,000 estudyante at kabataang di nakapag-aaral ang nagmartsa patungong Mendiola nitong Hulyo 18. Sa panawagang “Kabataan at Bayan, Mag-aklas,” nag-walkout ang libu-libong estudyante mula sa kani-kanilang eskwelahan. Iginiit nila ang pagbabasura sa value added tax (VAT) sa langis, ang pagbabasura sa Oil Deregulation Law at ang pagsasabatas sa P125 across-the-board na umento sa sahod.

Task Force Poll Watch, an anti-fraud and monitoring group formed by partylist groups, reported this morning massive vote-shaving in at least 10 provinces, resulting in 73 percent loss of votes for Bayan Muna, Anakpawis, Gabriela, Kabataan and Genuine Opposition senatorial candidate Loren Legarda.

New York & California – In the final two-week push before the May elections in the Philippines, Filipino youth, musicians, spoken word artists, organizers and allies are coming together in New York and Los Angeles to show support for the KABATAAN Partylist, the largest youth party representing the youth sector in the upcoming Philippine elections, and to call for clean and fair elections. Youth of KABATAAN-Ugnayan ng mga Anak ng Bayan (Linking the Children of the Motherland), based in New York and New Jersey, and KABATAAN-Kabataang maka-Bayan (KmB, Pro-People Youth), based in California, will speak out for the rights of Filipino youth, both in the Philippines and here, in the US.
Philippine Chief Justice Won Praises from KABATAAN (Youth)for Defense of Human Rights (tags)
Philipppine Supreme Court Chief Justice Reynato Puno won praises for his fighting words in defense of human rights and the sweetest praise came from the Kabataan party-list group, which gave him a mocha cake. Kabataan vice president Carl Ramota delivered the cake to the court but court spokesperson Jose Midas Marquez said Puno was at a meeting and received it on behalf of the Chief Justice. Marquez said Puno had been told about the cake and thanked the group for it. More than 835 Filipinos have veen killed since Arroyo assumed power in 2001 and at least 220 people have been missing. There at at least 215 activist have been detained as political prisoners, the most prominent is ANAKPAWIS Pre. Crispin Beltran who has been languishing in jail since last year when Arroyo declared a "state of emergency. Also in military jail are at least 60 officers and men including 2 generals, scores of colonels and majors who are being charged with attempted coup since 2003.

Buong pagmamalaking ipinagdiriwang natin lalo ng Alyansa para Tunay at Pangmatagalang Kapayapaan sa Pilipinas (AJLPP)-USA ,ang ika 143 taong kaarawan ng dakilang Supremo Andres Bonifacio, ang tagapagtatatag ng Katipunan na tumapos sa mahigit sa 300 daang taong paghahari ng Kolonyalismong Espanya sa Pilipinas, Nobyembre 30, 1863. Eksaktong sa ika 101 taong ng kanyang kaarawan, itinatag naman ang organisasyong Kabataang Makabayan (KM) noong Nobyembre 30, 1964. Kasunod nito, nagtatag din ng iba’t-ibang organisasyong kabataan ang mga estudyante at kabataan at mga nasa komunidad tulad ng Samahang Demokratikong Kabataan (SDK), Katipunan ng Kabataang Demokratiko (KKD), Samahang Molabe (SM), Kamanyang at iba pa sa iba’t ibang panig ng Pilipinas. Mula noon, nag-iba na ang takbo ng kasaysayan. Mula sa mga maliit na aksyong masa, unti-unti ito ay lumaki at nagiging matutunog na pagkilos. Noong Oktubre 24, 1966 hanggang sa pagsiklab ang welga ng mga guro noong unang hati ng 1969 hanggang sa malakihang mga welgang estudyante na yumanig sa buong Pilipinas. Hanggang sa pumutok ang Sigwa ng Unang Kwarto noong Enero 1970.
