Emperor Bush gets the usual special treatment when he visits Phoenix today. Scottsdale Airport will be closed for 14 hours so a suicide bomber in a plane can’t kill Emperor Bush during his stay. Sky Harbor Airport will be closed when Emperor Bush lands only inconveniencing a few thousand people for a few hours, but the Emperor must be protected. The Squaw Peak freeway and Lincoln Drive will probably be closed to keep peons and potential killers away from the Emperors motorcade. But its part of the job of protecting the Emperor. You can’t just let normal people near the Emperor.
While reading about the exploits of Emperor Bush, who bravely flew in to war-torn Baghdad, Iraq and spent a whole six hours there without even providing the usual notice to, let alone securing the necessary approvals from, its so-called "sovereign" government, I was reminded of the remarkable words spoken to author Ron Suskind by a senior Bush advisor in the summer of 2002.
