Partly racist, partly just trigger happiness, or a combination. A dirty State in a dirtier State, that is the American police. A criminal organisation! This time about a black woman, who is shot and killed by a white cop in her own home. Time for a 'j'accuse. NO JUSTICE, NO PEACE!

Text from 9:32am 01/15/2008- "Cops maced and arrested a very friendly and loved student at Jefferson yesterday, students are protesting, need to get some folks down there!!! Spread the word..." updates- it was a member of the LAUSD police who pepper sprayed the student. Students are currently striking; there is a lot of activity on campus right now. An assembly may take place at the end of the school day.

Forrest Church, Unitarian-Universalist minister and son of the late Senator Frank Church (D-Idaho), spoke October 4 at the Unitarian-Universalist Church in San Diego on the history of the relationship between church and state in the U.S. His message, surprising in front of a progressive audience, was that religion shouldn't dominate politics but it shouldn't be read out of the public sphere altogether either. The FBI conducted a search of the office of Louisiana Representative William Jefferson over the weekend in what is the first such intrusion by an agency of the executive branch into the office of a sitting congressman in US history. In a press conference on Monday, Jefferson, a Democrat, denounced the raid as an “outrageous intrusion into the separation of powers.” The raid on Jefferson’s office in the Rayburn House Office Building on Saturday night was a politically motivated breach of constitutional boundaries aimed at asserting the power of the executive branch over the legislative. It is yet another political marker in the government’s moves towards dictatorial forms of rule.

As part of an ongoing investigation surrounding a case of vandalism at a Kohl’s clothing store on December 9, 2000, the Jefferson County District Attorney's office established a GRAND JURY and issued subpoenas to a local activist, Doug Bohm, and former Denver Justice and Peace Center staff member, David Martin, to testify. On May 17th Bohm was found in contempt of court and taken into custody for “failing to follow a court order that involved his testimony before a grand jury," said Pam Russell, spokeswoman for the Jefferson County District Attorney's office. Martin is scheduled to appear before the Grand Jury on May 31st.
