Los Angeles participated in the Global March Against Chemtrails & Geoengineering today in Santa Monica. There were 50-70 activists involved, including members of Los Angeles Skywatch. The public was very receptive and inquisitive.

Twenty-two year old Manning, held in solitary confinement since May, has been charged with releasing classified documents including a video that shows American troops shooting and killing Reuters journalists in 2007. Venice Homeless Protect LAPD Order to vacate public sidewalk after 9pm, Aug 26, 2010 (tags)
On Aug 26. 2010 LAPD Officers not familiar with Venice sent to enforcement LAMC 41.18(d) a direct violation of the Jones vs City of Los Angeles settlement Agreement, on 3rd Street between Sunset Ave and Rose Ave. Video evidence taken by Lisa Green. A transcript of most of the proceedings are provided. Names of Officers and the persons which were enforced to leave the sidewalk after having settled to sleep are not provided to protect those being used to pit us against each other using fear. However, I will make the video tape available to the appropriate persons upon request so that we can address this misuse of power and criminalization of those defined as homeless.

This month, US Labor Against the War, United for Peace and
Justice (UFPJ) and the American Friends Service Committee are sponsoring an "Iraq Labor Tour" to various U.S. cities.
These speakers will be coming to Los Angeles this weekend, June, 8-10th.
A couple of years ago a similar tour of Iraq labor leaders came to LA, who were very strongly opposed to the US Occupation.
This time one of the featured speakers represents the Iraq Federation of Oil Workers , which spearheads opposition to privatization of Iraqi oil and demands immediate U.S. withdrawal.
However, the tour also includes a representative of the General
Federation of Iraqi Workers (GFIW). The GFIW (formerly IFTU) is
sponsored by the Iraqi Communist Party (ICP) and former U.S.-installed Prime Minister Iyad Allawi.
These parties not only oppose immediate U.S. withdrawal, but support Bush's "surge," and demand that the Iraqi puppet regime crush Iraqi resistance -- positions that are echoed by the GFIW.

Santa Monica, Sunday, March 19, eighty people marched with Fernando Suarez Del Solar from the Federal Building in Westwood to the Arlington West Memorial at the Santa Monica Pier. There, Mr. Suarez, Mrs. Castro, and others, in front of many cameras, checked some of the 2,317 crosses set up on the beach, in honor of the U.S. soldiers killed in Iraq.

There will be over 800 crosses placed in the sand. Each cross represents an American soldier who has died in Iraq. The names, ages, hometowns and circumstances of their deaths are there for all to read on a plaque that is placed in front of this memorial. Another sign indicates that it would take the entire beach in order to recognize all of the Iraqi’s who have been killed in this war. The crosses are not meant to be used as a religious symbol.
