The Riverside DAs granted immunity to Dennis James Smith for his 1989 killing of Arnold Palmer (not the famous one) in their rush to secure the death penalty for Woodruff. But jurors say Smith's immunized testimony was a waste of time. And the family of murder victim Palmer feel betrayed and used, and they'll never see justice done. Way to go, Mr. District Attorney.
