bush admits, "we torture" --democrats stay silent (tags)
The White House publicly acknowledged on Wednesday that President Bush has authorized the use of waterboarding, and that he may do so again in the future. The statements amount to an open admission of criminal activity on the part of the US government. The acknowledgement from White House deputy spokesman Tony Fratto came a day after testimony from CIA Director Michael Hayden before the Senate Intelligence Committee. For the first time, Hayden officially stated that the Bush administration had used waterboarding on three prisoners in 2002 and 2003. Waterboarding is a form of torture used since the Spanish Inquisition. It involves pouring water over a prisoner’s head to cause drowning, and has been prosecuted as torture by the United States government in the past. While the Bush administration is now stretching language and credulity to claim that it should not be categorized as torture, the director of national intelligence, Mike McConnell, acknowledged on Wednesday that “taken to its extreme, [the consequences of waterboarding] could be death; you could drown someone.”

A penetrating overview of the Legend of 9/11. Going back over a decade, Kupferberg uses mostly mainstream sources to build a compelling argument that the events leading up to, and arising from, the September 11 attack were part of a covert global operation, the seams of which may be detected by a plethora of contradictions, coincidences, and curiously timed set-ups.

pResident Bush took responsibility for his lies in the state of the union speech in January where he made his case for a war on Iraq. He also expressed his disdain for gay marriage, and lied about the outlook for the economy. Abusing his power to make the case for war makes Bush a terrorist under the Patriot Act.

Bush Admininstration Making Steady Progress Against Terror (tags)
There has been steady progress by the Bush Administration in the War Against Terror. This is another major arrest. We didn't see this sort of event under Clinton, and it's doubtful that we would have seen it under an Al Gore Presidency. Let's face it, Bush and his team are getting the job done.
