In May 2020, a lot have happened in Honduras under the pandemic and dictatorship. Confirmed cases upsurged a lot this month. Workers continue to struggle a lot. There had been a lot of state repression against people just for being out on the streets, trying to earn a living or get something done. The prison began known COVID-19 outbreaks with two prisoners dying of COVID-19 under custody. Political prisoners continue at risk, in terrible conditions, locked up. There had been also attacks from angry police and the criminal rich, against people on the community who either self organised or were obligated, to watch the entrances and exits of their communities in attempt to keep their communities safe from COVID-19. One such community protector, who is black Garífuna, was murdered. Another Garífuna man was murdered inside a thermoelectricity plant. Protests Continue in San Luis Obispo (tags)
Medical cannabis activists in the San Luis Obispo area are coordinating rallies this month in support of patients and providers facing charges there. On the first two Thursdays of the month, Feb 3 and Feb 10, activists will be passing out informational flyers at the San Luis Obispo Farmers Market. Several of those arrested will appear in court on Feb 9 and 10, and another has a pre-trial hearing on Feb 14.

This is not to glorify our colonial legacy as some Filipino Americans do in their PCN Nights, but this is also to honor the prowess of Filipino seamen who manned the Spanish ships. Until today, the Philippines is the country in the world that sends a lot of seamen into the different oceans. This is also to add to the much glorified pirates story about the Carribean. Shame of Johnny Depp for not including the Filipino pirates and their battles in his films!.
