Syria Endgame Approaching Fast (tags)
The tempo of events in Syria has increased in recent weeks. The government forces have scored significant battlefield victories over the rebels, and this has provoked a number of responses from the U.S. and its anti-Assad allies: a mixture of war provocations and peace offers.
Obama's Defining Moment: Targeted Assassination (tags)
From his first week in office, Obama has been actively using drones to kill people all to protect US oil profits around the world. This time, he assassinated 2 American citizens, Anwar al-Awlaki and Samir Khan, apparently as a favor for the US-backed dictator of Yemen, Ali Abdullah Saleh, who is being opposed by mass protests. Clearly, this phony lawyer does not believe in due process.
Cracks in the Honduran Coup Regime Grow Wider (tags)
"Micheletti is in fact declaring the military a scapegoat for doing just once what Micheletti himself has ordered them to do a second and third time. He doesn’t really want Zelaya to stand trial because, first, the so-called evidence against the President is flimsy and falsified, and, second, because the regime fears that the very people of Honduras might assemble to break down any wall that might hold their elected president."

" I don’t worry or weep for Latin America or Honduras. The people united will never be defeated, and our authentic journalists, myself included, will be there alongside them reporting their every step in community organizing and civil resistance to win back what basic democratic principles establish is rightfully theirs. It really doesn't matter how much money or oxygen Washington gives to the Honduras coup regime: that baby is going down, and will go down hard, at the hands of an organized people."
Stop US-backed Israeli War Crimes (tags)
The Alliance for Just and Lasting Peace in the Philippines (AJLPP) joins the ANSWER Coalition and the many other organizations gathered today to protest the US-backed Israeli War Crimes. Today’s action is part of an International Day of Action to show solidarity with the Palestinian people in Gaza and to demand an immediate end to the murderous attacks carried out by the Israeli military. Nearly 400 Palestinians in Gaza have been killed and over 1,600 wounded as Israel has launched a massive bombing campaign against the people of Gaza. U.S.-provided F-16s have bombed homes, hospitals, schools, government buildings, water treatment facilities and busy urban areas, killing children and adults. We must end this senseless war against the people of Palestine.
