LOS ANGELES - Following Mayor Villaraigosa's eviction notice to the occupants of Solidarity Park, formerly known as City Hall Park, we received the call to support Occupy LA in case the eviction were actually carried forth.

The police adhered to their statement that Solidarity Park would not be raided before sunrise. Although, they made their presence known via noisy helicopters overhead shinning lights down on us. (For some photographers, this extra light was helpful.)

Occupy LA, Day 56 - Last Camp Standing (tags)
LOS ANGELES, November 25, 2011 – While the mass hysteria of consumerism raged in shopping malls around the country, the occupiers of Solidarity Park provided a glimpse of a better way of life. The camp is now the last of the large camps remaining in the nation after police raids have evicted camps in most all other major cities. And with today’s late afternoon announcement by the mayor it seems there may only be two more days left for the camp in its present form and location.

LOS ANGELES, November 25, 2011 – The Mayor announced this afternoon that he is ordering the closure of Solidarity Park (formerly known as City Hall Park). Standing with police chief Beck the mayor said that closure of the park would begin at one minute past midnight this Sunday night.
