(A-Radio) Anarchist Black Cross Czech: Presentation on Operation Fenix and related issues (tags)
In the end of November of 2016 we had the opportunity of recording a presentation in Berlin by the Anarchist Black Cross in Czech Republic on the topic of Operation Fenix. The talk comprised the following topics: a short review of what had happened, the use of the term „terrorism“, the topic of solidarity in Czech Republic and in general, a reflection on mistakes and how to deal with repression and police infiltrators, and finally the current development of the anarchist movement in that country.

Czech Greens enter right-wing government (tags)
Following the Czech parliamentary elections of June 2 and 3, the Green Party is now preparing to join the right-wing government of the arch-conservative Citizens Party (ODS). The Greens have now entered an Eastern European parliament for the first time, with Strana Zelenych (SZ) receiving 6.3 percent of the vote. Clearly, the Green Party in Prague is beginning its political odyssey at the point it left off in Germany—as a governing party; but this time no longer in alliance with the Social Democrats, but instead with politically conservative and right-wing parties.

Paul Bremer, the U.S. Protector of Iraq, has promised reprisals for the "murder" of four "civilian contractors" in Fallujah, Iraq. U.S. officials have called the killings "ghoulish." Beware another Lidice -- the Czech village liquidated and leveled by the German Nazis in 1942 to pay back the killing by Czech patriots of Reinhard Heydrich, chief of the occupation of Czechoslovakia. About "ghoulish," remember that President Bush's grandfather robbed the grave of Apache chief Geronimo and took his skull to Yale's Skull and Bones Society, to which both President Bushes belonged, where it was (and still may be) used in rituals. Let's don't get too self-righteous or bloodthirsty.

The main reason for this message is that people who have been arrested are having an extremely hard time in jail. Many people of all nationalities are being beaten. Over 900 have been arrested. About 2/3 are Czech. There are reports of broken arms, teeth knocked out, black eyes, and sexual abuse.

This obvious abuse of power probably won't stop the thousands of activists gearing up to disrupt the IMF/World Bank meetings next week.
