State Governors Grant Over 500 Pardons, Commutations (tags)
In what is typically a politically risky move, six state governors recently granted pardons and commutations to hundreds of current and former prisoners. In California, Indiana, Kentucky, New York, Arkansas and Vermont, more than 500 pardons were granted along with another 20 commutations or grants of clemency.

Kathy Boudin Granted Parole After 20 years (tags)
ALBANY, N.Y. (AP) -- Kathy Boudin, the '60s radical who has served 22 years in prison for a 1981 armored car heist in which three men were killed, was granted parole Wednesday. Boudin, 60, a one-time member of the Weather Underground described as a model inmate in prison, had been denied parole just three months ago, as well as two years ago.

But jurors say Smith's immunized testimony was a waste of time. And the family of murder victim Palmer feel betrayed and used, and they'll never see justice done. Way to go, Mr. District Attorney.
