Permanent Destruction of Louisiana Marshland (tags)

The Louisiana marshland is being permanently destroyed by the multi-billion dollar profiting oil companies in the Gulf of Mexico Oil Disaster. The biggest user of oil, the US military, should be abolished as it simply exists to maximize profits of the capitalist class. The second biggest user is the private passenger auto which must be replaced with massive free public transportation. The oil companies actually claimed they had this disaster under control. The marshlands need an 80 mile levy built TODAY to save the coastal areas. British Petroleum makes multi-billion dollars a year in profit and must pay for the levies, cleanup, lost wages, lost businesses and everything else 100% TODAY. Brasschecktv has the story.

Senators Barack Obama, Hilary Clinton and John McCain are rehashing the old political rhetoric that the Democrats and Republicans have coined to win elections every four years. However, in 2008, working people are searching for real solutions to complex issues; ending the Iraq War and dealing with a global industry that is beyond the control of the Democrats, Republicans or their candidates.

Inside Intel / The story of Iranian oil and Israeli pipes (tags)

With the help of pumps and pipes "confiscated" - meaning stolen - from an Italian company and a Belgian company operating an oilfield in Ras Sudar in Sinai, Israel built a pipeline from Eilat to Ashkelon. The pipe, 40 centimeters in diameter, was paid for by Baron Edmund de Rothschild. The initiative was called Tri-Continental. By demand of the Iranians, who wanted to conceal their involvement in selling oil to Israel and in the joint company, the parties established a secret partnership called Fimarco, which was registered in July 1959 in the tax shelter of Lichtenstein. Iran owned 10 percent of the partnership. Tankers transported the oil from Iran to Eilat, and from there it was sent to Ashkelon through the pipeline.

Fabian Nunez 12-Day Posh Trip to Rio Paid for by Chevron Oil (tags)

Schwarzenegger's powerful chief of staff, Susan P. Kennedy, and her partner spent a legislative spring break in Rio de Janeiro at the posh Copacabana Palace with Democratic Assembly Speaker Fabian Nuñez and his wife — on the tab of a foundation largely financed by Chevron and other energy companies. During the 12-day conference, Chevron's lobbyist got an entire day on the official agenda, which the public knows about only because of our Public Records Act request. Nuñez, who last year was highly critical of oil companies, seems to have nothing to say this year.

Washington No Match For Big Oil (tags)

Most of the Democratic and Republican presidential hopefuls are reluctant to challenge big oil, insurance companies, health care providers and many of the big corporations that are driving up inflation because these candidates for president will be relying on the same big corporations to contribute the hundreds of millions necessary for a successful campaign in 2007 and 2008. The Democrats and Republicans are selling America to the highest bidders.

Congressional Resolve: Oil Giants Too Big (tags)

The big oil companies have finally found the congress they have awaited for over one hundred years; in the 21st Century big oil appears to be beyond U.S. authority and is playing by their own rules. The oil giants appear to be too big for this new Democratic Republican Party.

Breaking the grip of Big Oil (tags)

The day after President Bush advised Americans to deal with skyrocketing gas prices by avoiding unnecessary driving, he flew to New Orleans for a photo-op, burning up about 11,437 gallons of jet fuel, worth over $24,000. Apparently, it all depends on what you consider “necessary.”

Oil Price-Fixing (Gasp)? Of Course There's Oil Price-Fixing! (tags)

Tidy concepts like competition and free markets don’t apply in this industry, where the executives of each company know everything about the “competition” without even asking, and where the government is happy to let them suck the profits out of the public’s pockets like crude from a gusher.

Who Owns The Army? (tags)

Are you under the assumption that the Army, Navy, Air force, and Marines, own the equipment that they use? Is the soldier who stands guard someplace in the world, under the illusion that the gun he has, belongs to him or to the military branch he is a member of? Unless he paid taxes at sometime, he cannot claim any ownership of that gun. The gun belongs to the taxpayers.

Another nail in the coffin of the ludicrous theory that the US invasion of Iraq had anything to do with weapons of mass destruction or "liberating" the Iraqi people.

Bush Order Makes Corporate Anarchy Viable In Iraq (tags)

AN EXECUTIVE ORDER can be a surreptitious way of making policy. It often makes an end-run around Congress and frequently escapes the media's attention as well. It is, in short, a way of making policy by fiat. Now, a potentially explosive executive order has just been discovered by SEEN, the Sustainable Energy and Economy Network. Signed on May 22, it appears to give U.S. oil companies in Iraq blanket immunity from lawsuits and criminal prosecution.

Corporate Subliminal Collusion: How the Bilderberg Pulls the Strings (tags)

In our ostensibly civilized society we forget that corporations are not moral or ethical entities. If you think I'm too critical, consider the following. Back in the early days of the blue-collar labor movement workers were actually dying on the job. Preventable explosions and mine collapses occurred regularly. 20, 40, even 80 and more miners at a time lost their lives.
