People's CORE and the Coalition in Defense of Immigrant Rights (CDIR) greet the so-called deadlock and impasse on the Immigration Overhaul Bill with cautious and guarded optimism. We believe that the recent deadlock is better than having the bill approved. Such a prospect would have imposed great hardships on the more than 12 million immigrants in the United States.
