Richard Gingery, M.D, a member of "Physicians for a National Health Program," a non-profit research and education organization composed of 17,000 physicians, medical students and health professionals, will do a "teach-in" showing how a single-payer "Medicare for All"-type system is the best public option for solving the healthcare crisis here in the United States.

On December 3, 1984 the world's worst industrial disaster attacked the Union Carbide pesticide plant in Bhopal. Twenty-one years later, the death toll has risen to more than twenty thousand, with thirty people still dying every month due to exposure-related illnesses and more than 150,000 living with them. Dow bought Union Carbide in 2001, purchasing its assets as well as its liabilities. Dow set aside $2.2 billion to pay off former Union Carbide asbestos workers in United States but refuses to pay the liabilities in India. University of Texas students are protesting against this apartheid.
