The last Congo war that ended in 2003 killed 5.4 million people, the worst humanitarian disaster since World War II. The killing was directly enabled by international silence over the issue; the war was ignored and the causes obscured because governments were backing groups involved in the fighting. Now a new Congo war has begun and the silence is, again, deafening.

Rick Warren, the best known advocate of California's Proposition 8 gay marriage ban, has staked his reputation as an international humanitarian on his alliance with Kagame, and on his Rwandan and Ugandan HIV/AIDS ministries, which are infamous for hijacking PEPFAR, the President’s Emergency Plan for AIDS Relief, in service to his abstinence-only-until-heterosexual-married -monogamy-for-life agenda. And now Kagame has been sued, in an Oklahoma Court, for guilt in the Rwanda Genocide and the Congo War, which have together cost 7 million African lives.

Anti-war activists around the country rallied in Washington D.C. and around the country on the 7th anniversary of the outset of the Iraq War, but there as little or no mention of the Congo War, or the wider war in Central Africa, financed by the US and the UK, with six to ten million war dead.
