Taos-puso niyang niyakap ang mga demokratiko at rebolusyonaryong simulain, lubusang pumanig sa rebolusyon at mamamayan, at puspusang lumahok sa kanilang pakikibaka. Huwaran siya sa katatagan sa prinsipyo, pagiging makatotohanan, masipag, pursigido, mapagkumbaba, at malapit sa mga kasama at sa mamamayan. Itinatanghal siya at pinararangalan ng sambayanang Pilipino.
