This October in Honduras, an environmental defender from the heavily persecuted community in resistance against mining, was assassinated. Colonisation processes under the name of Model Cities made further inroads against several communities in Honduras. Several campesino and indigenous communities in land occupations had been attacked, evicted, repressed, faced violence and arrests. Journalists and human rights defender experienced death threats and persecution. COVID-19 continued to claim lives including of health care workers in Honduras - along with two other doctors, a pair of twins - a frontline COVID-19 doctor and a microbiologist aged only 35, died of COVID-19 within days of one another. On July 5th of this year ten courageous environmental activists took direct action in an attempt to stop the destruction of the South Central Farm. Their actions were non-violent, yet they received injuries from police violence. Now they are facing excessive charges from the Los Angeles District Attorney office. The hearings for three of these defenders of the farm begin this Thursday. Supporters of the fight to take back the South Central Farm are asked to attend the hearing to show support for those who put themselves on the frontline in the fight for environmental justice.

Martín Rodriguez, , says he was tortured in the San Jose Main Jail while spending 115 days there on drug charges. His public defender demanded he plead guilty and he is seeking adequate representation for a plea of innocent. His cause has been taken up by the Barrito Defense Committee of San Jose.
