SAN DIMAS, California - About thirty constituents, immigrant rights activists, students, and community members entered Representative David Dreier's office, requesting a meeting and answers to questions on his stance on immigration reform. When Dreier's staff proved unresponsive to the request, activists declared they would not leave until their demands were met. They held the office for about an hour, withdrawing after negotiating with officials from the Los Angeles County sheriff's office.

The Echo Park Community Coalition (EPCC) expresses solidarity with the 600,000 Washington march for real immigration reform. Together with them the EPCC is determined to push a major overhaul of the immigration system to the top of the nation's political agenda, challenging Congress to fix laws that they say separate families and hurt the country's economic and social vitality. Garcia spoke at the packed Long Beach Unitarian Church on Sunday, March 21 at 4:00 pm in solidarity with faith-based group that held an inter-faith service in solidarity with the Washington immigrant march.

“ The test of the pudding is in the eating” The Echo Park Community Coalition (EPCC) and the Coalition for the Defense of immigrant Rights (CDIR) learned that leaders of the National Immigration Forum and Chair of the Reform Immigration for America Campaign met with President Obama and was joined by other immigrant rights leaders from grassroots, labor, and faith organizations for a meeting at the White House on next steps for comprehensive immigration reform legislation.
