The Echo Park Community Coalition (EPCC) expresses solidarity with the 600,000 Washington march for real immigration reform. In contrast to the reactionary tea-party baggers more than hundreds of thousand immigrant rights activist from all over American marched in Washington DC, Sunday, march 21. Together with them the EPCC is determined to push a major overhaul of the immigration system to the top of the nation's political agenda, challenging Congress to fix laws that they say separate families and hurt the country's economic and social vitality. AJLPP CONDEMNS SF POLICE ATTACKS ON PEACEFUL ASSEMBLY MARCH 21 (tags)
The Alliance-Philippines (AJLPP) vehemently condemned the vicious and unprovoked attacks by the San Francisco anti-riot police on peaceful assembly at the Civic Center in San Francisco last March 21. The AJLPP also scored the police riot on the Palestinian youths and the peaceful assembly who were the targets of their attacks. A baton hit a Palestinian woman and a Filipino youth with the ANSWER peace marshals was also attacked brutality by the cops.

Various coalitions, organizations, and networks are joining together in a March 21 National Coalition to bring people from all walks of life and from all cities across the United States to take part in a March on the Pentagon on the sixth anniversary of the Iraq war: Saturday, March 21. Simultaneous demonstrations are taking place in San Francisco and Los Angeles. More than 1,300 organizations and individuals have now endorsed the March 21, 2009, March on the Pentagon to say “Bring the Troops Home NOW!” on the sixth anniversary of the criminal invasion of Iraq. The thousands who march will demand “From Iraq to Afghanistan to Palestine, Occupation is a Crime” and “We Need Jobs and Education, Not Wars and Occupation.” They will insist on an end to the war threats and economic sanctions against Iran. They will say no to the illegal U.S. program of detention and torture.
