The drift gillnet gear that killed a gray whale and entangled another over the past week along the Southern California coast is the same type of gear used by the California drift gillnet fishery targeting swordfish and shark that captured and killed at least two sperm whales in 2010.

In the Pacific, these volkswagwen sized turtles lay eggs in Malaysia and eat Jellyfish in San Francisco, in between they navigate the entire width of the Pacific along turtle highways.
