The Democratic Party, read “The War Lite” Party, is basking in the glow of victory today. It has regained control of the House of Representatives, and the U.S. Senate for the first time in 12-years. The two issues that it won on-The Iraqi War and the whacky persona of President George W. Bush-had little or nothing to do with the Democratic Party. Those two matters were actually sourced by activists in the Anti-Iraqi War Movement!

Lieberman’s Electoral Fate Tests Power of Wirepullers (tags)

Sen. Joseph I. Lieberman, the ultra Iraqi War Hawk, is up for reelection in Connecticut on Nov. 7th. He lost the Democratic primary, but has re-created himself as an Independent. Ned Lamont is his opponent. If Lieberman can be defeated, it will be a blow to the Wirepullers and also an opportunity for antiwar forces to reshape the new Congress, which may lead to impeachment proceedings, in 2007, against both George W. Bush and Dick Cheney.

Kevin Zeese Blasts "Special Interests" at Senate Debate (tags)

In an historic first, a three-way debate was held between the candidates running for the office of U.S. Senate in Maryland. Kevin Zeese, the “Unity Candidate,” blasted the Democrats and Republicans in the Congress for selling the country out “to the special interests.” Unlike his opponents, Lt. Gov. Michael Steele and Rep. Ben Cardin, Zeese offered specific proposals to solve the many problems facing the people of the state of Maryland.

Since the end of WWII, the U.S. policy in the Middle East has created only “more anger-more hatred for our county,” said Kevin Zeese. Speaking on 09/13/06, at the Palestine Center, in D.C., Zeese ripped the Bush-Cheney Gang for giving Israel the “green light” to terrorize Lebanon for 33-days. Zeese also took it to task for abandoning the Palestinians and for its hostile attitude towards Iran. “It’s time to try diplomacy in the Middle East,” he said.

Takoma, Maryland’s City Hall was the scene for a lively discussion on Middle East issues, on Aug. 17, 2006. Kevin Zeese, the “Unity candidate” for the U.S. Senate in Maryland, and one of the panelists, said Israel’s attack on Lebanon was premeditated and that an attack on Iran might lead to WWIII. Noura Erakat said Lebanon had been devastated ‘on a humanitarian level” by Israel’s War Machine. She also denounced Israel as an “Apartheid state.”

Despite the “unmatched power” the Israel Lobby exerts over our foreign policy, Zeese is challenging Rep. Ben Cardin to speak out about Israel’s “terror military policy” in Occupied Gaza and Lebanon. Ralph Nader spoke at a campaign rally, in Baltimore, MD, on behalf of Kevin Zeese, who’s running as an Independent for a U.S. Senate seat. Nader called his former press secretary, “a great candidate.” An activist’s activist, Nader said a vast majority of Americans need a dose of “moral courage.” They have allowed “a few,” to rule over the many. “Democracy,” Nader said, “isn’t a slogan. People need to get motivated, show up and get organized.”

Cindy Sheehan is back in Washington, D.C. She appeared at a Forum, on Jan. 30, 2006, proposing the impeachment of both President George W. Bush and his vice-president-in-mayhem, Dick Cheney. Sheehan believes Bush’s election in 2000, by the Supreme Court was illegitimate and that his abrogating to himself Congress’s war making powers to invade Iraq was unconstitutional. Congress won’t do anything, Sheehan said, “unless we make them” do it.

Green Party’s Kevin Zeese Has New Approach (tags)

On Dec. 14, 2005, the Green Party candidate for the U.S. Senate in MD, Kevin Zeese, ripped into President Bush calling his Annapolis speech, “filled with lies!” He also demanded the U.S. get out of Iraq and admit it’s a “failed policy.” He labeled the Military-Industrial Complex, the “greatest threat to our country.” Zeese also wants a “Single Payer” health care system, a “share the wealth” economy and a fair and balanced Middle East policy.

President George W. Bush’s approval numbers are falling faster than the values of Ken Lay’s Enron stock. Nationwide, Bush is at 39 percent, while in Maryland, he has dipped further to 33 percent. As Bush’s goes, so goes the GOP. It’s time for the Green Party to make its move. The Democrats are part of the corrupt Two-Party duopoly. The country needs an alternative.
