The AJLPP West Coast Coordinator Arturo P. Garcia announced that the Filipino-American contingent composed of students, workers, activist will assemble at PEOPLE"S CORE on 1610 Beverly Blvd,. Suite No. 2 Los Angeles, CA 90026 from 11:30 AM to 12:00 noon and proceed to assembly area in Broadway and Olympic, where march starts at 1.00 PM The AJLPP with ANSWER Coalition encourages everyone to come out on Friday, May 1 for a Mass March and Rally for immigrant rights in downtown Los Angeles. AJLPP CONDEMNS SF POLICE ATTACKS ON PEACEFUL ASSEMBLY MARCH 21 (tags)
The Alliance-Philippines (AJLPP) vehemently condemned the vicious and unprovoked attacks by the San Francisco anti-riot police on peaceful assembly at the Civic Center in San Francisco last March 21. The AJLPP also scored the police riot on the Palestinian youths and the peaceful assembly who were the targets of their attacks. A baton hit a Palestinian woman and a Filipino youth with the ANSWER peace marshals was also attacked brutality by the cops.

With profound sadness and most serious concern, the Alliance-Philippines (AJLPP through its West Coast Coordinator Arturo P. Garcia expresses dismay over the fate of the peace process with the Moro Islamic Liberation Front (MILF) and the Philippine Government. The AJLPP views President Gloria Macapagal-Arroyo recent orders of a "thorough review" of all government peace initiatives after dissolving the panel negotiating with the Moro Islamic Liberation Front (MILF), as bad faith, lacking in political will and a traditional display of political opportunism The AJLPP is alarmed by the growing number of people affected by the conflict. AJLPP sources have confirmed that more than 487,000 people have been dislocated by the ongoing military offensives in Northern and Central Mindanao. More than 200 soldiers and MILF fighters as well as civilians have been killed in the month old conflict.
