AJLPP Wraps Up STP Relief Drive, 2009, Gains $12, 649.43 (tags)
The Alliance-Philippines (AJLPP) wrapped up its successful relief and fund drive to help the victims of the successive floods in the Philippines. The relief drive commenced on September 27, 2009 and ended in December 31, 2009. According to the AJLPP national secretariat based in Los Angeles the fund drive netted a total amount of $ 12, 649. 43 from voluntary contributions and 234 Balikbayan boxes send to two non-profit agencies in the Philippines. .
STP Typhoon Relief Operation Gains Support in Key US Cities, Relief Drive Extended (tags)
he Sagip Tulong sa Pilipinas (STP) campaign gained massive support among different communities in the US . As of October 16, organizers have collected and sorted out an equivalent of 170 boxes of clothing, canned goods, shoes, bottled water and other materials. This is on top of around 250 boxes that People’s CORE facilitated to send to the Philippines through another organization in LA. The GABNET Los Angeles has sent 52 Boxes to the GWP group in the Philippines. Pledges, cash and check donations totaled around $ 10,000—meant mainly to purchase medicines and supplies in the Philippines for medical missions. STP collection centers like DAMAYAN Migrant Workers in New York and People’s CORE in Los Angeles have been flooded with material donations and phone calls throughout the day from ordinary people who were willing to help in any way.

PEOPLE’S CORE DISASTER RELIEF EFFORTS PROVE SUCCESSFUL (tags)
Congratulations to volunteers and community members who did an amazing job supporting the relief efforts for the campaigns Sagip-Tulong sa Pilipinas (STP) and Operation Metro Manila. Over 100 volunteers gathered to package relief items to be sent to the areas hardest hit by the floods in the Philippines. Students, activist, families, and community members organized by People’s CORE, Alliance Philippines, GABRIELA Network Los Angeles, KmB Pro-People Youth, Justice for Filipino American Veterans (JFAV), UCLA Samahang Pilipino, UCLA Kappa Psi Epsilon, CSULB Pilipino American Coalition, and Search to Involve Pilipino American (SIPA), collected and packed more than 400 bags of material donations for the Typhoon Ondoy victims at SIPA Hall in Historic Filipinotown, Los Angeles, on Saturday, October 3rd, 2009. GMA’s Handling of Typhoon Ondoy is the Real Disaster (tags)
In response to the devastation of Typhoon Ondoy, members of the national Alliance for a Just and Lasting Peace in the Philippines (AJLPP) and the Filipino youth-based Daluyong Coordinating Committee are organizing Sagip-Tulong Sa Pilipinas (STP) Emergency Relief Fund Campaign. This campaign will raise material and monetary support for the typhoon victims and aims to raise $5,000 by Monday, October 5, and another $5,000 by Friday, October 16.
