The LAPPL, the Los Angeles Police Protective League, invested 30 million in police pensions in the Tribune Co., the parent of the Los Angeles Times and many other deforesting warmonger newspapers.

2. In so doing, the LAPPL hoped to control the editorial board and news policy and to remove any reporter who criticized the Los Angeles Police Dept.

3. In investing in Tribue stock, when the company has been involved in bankruptcy and like nearly all newspapers is in a critical condition, the LAPPL endangered the pensions of tens of thousands of police officers.

4. An investment banker named Buetner was made publisher of the LA Times. The Tribune company (named after the Chicago Tribune) is the parent company of the Los Angeles Times. Buetner followed Sam Zell who had acquired the LA Times, Baltimore Sun, Chicago Tribune, Orlando Sentinel, Sun Sentinel, etc. but went bankrupt.
