Did anyone see OTRP on TV?
I was stuck at home sick, and watched the parade end on KTLA, but didn't see Occupy. It was messed up! But there were a half dozen active internet streams embedded in the march, which looked pretty big.
Crowd counts range from 2,000 to 5,000.
So the main broadcast in LA seems to have deliberately cut to video rather than allow some post-parade march get any air time. How lame. But what do you expect from KTLA, which has a long history of being lame (except for Tom Hatten's old Popeye show).
A google search for "occupy the rose parade" turns up 675,000 hits. Google News turns up 671 hits.
44,800 hits on yahoo, and 228 in yahoo news.
44,900 hits on bing, and 21 in bing news. Bing is part of Microsoft, a total 1% corporation. And bill gates is now trying to "profitize" the free public schools.
In comparison, "occupy wall street" on google news turned up 436,000,000 hits, and on news, 10,200. (Note that the Pasadena event is probably counted in the 436 million.)
"rose parade" +2012 turned up 58.3 million hits. Adding +"occupy" turned up 13.2 million hits. That means that Occupy was mentioned along with the Rose Parade in 22.6% of hits. It also came up in the top news story, by the LA Times.
"rose parade" +2012 +"martinez" turned up 377,000 hits. JR Martinez, an actor, was the Grand Marshall. I'm feeling kinda sad for the guy.
