Corruption was the reputed cause, but it's been corrupt for decades - the masses of unemployed middle class people took to the streets.

London's burning because an underclass of black residents suffer high unemployment. There in the heart of the old empire, the Commonwealth, we see chaos amidst 20% unemployment.

Meanwhile, in the USA, at the core of empire, the verizon strike in the northeast pits the shitty economy against workers. The corporation is threatening to send jobs to other countries, and is demanding concessions of its workers.

The Tea Party mercilessly manufactured a crisis in congress, and Wall Street is in a roil. It seems despite the relentless wannabe \"Austrain School\" rhetoric of the Wall Street Journal (aka, another Murdoch house organ) the real Wall Street thinks more like Keynesians. The cuts in government spending will be like a little sucking sound of spending vanishing. The only people who don't believe this are the Tea Party econo-occultists.

Another recession is looming - during a so-called \"recovery\" that's been slow to create jobs, especially for the poor. The middle class is being decimated. And the rich will get richer, by leaps and bounds. They will buy us up, body and soul.

Prisoners have gone on hunger strikes to protest the human rights violations in the \"correctional system.\" They say they're being tortured. Gentrification is putting the pressure on to have \"gang injunction\" areas that cover hundreds of blocks spanning beyond the claimed territories of gangs.

The wars continue. The oil companies are laughing all the way to the bank, with $4 a gallon gasoline, and all the expenses of invading the relevant countries and strongarming the rest being paid for by the taxpayers of America (and Europe and Japan too).

Europe - they've been protesting austerity for a couple years. It's time to bring those protests to America! The United States of America, not the United States of Austerity. More for the Rich, Less for the Poor? Their Prosperity - Our Austerity.<\/p>\n","contact":"","link":"","address":"","phone":"","parent_id":0,"mime_type":"text\/plain","summary":"Strikes, riots, revolutions.
