Supreme Court Decision Opened Flood Gates for Unregulated Money in 2010 Election Campaign

In the final stretch of this year's congressional election campaign, the flood of corporate money being spent on attack advertising targeting mostly Democrats, has itself become a hot campaign issue. In recent stump speeches, President Obama has harshly criticized conservative special interest groups that solicit contributions from anonymous donors to spend on negative campaign ads. The president has specifically cited the U.S. Chamber of Commerce and Crossroads GPS affiliated with Republican campaign strategists Karl Rove and Ed Gillespie.
