OC College Student Tortures Mom for Dad

by Charles Norm Monday, Feb. 08, 2010 at 3:23 AM

Domestic violence is rampant in Orange County and the victims have no options but to stay.

This is a story that is all too common. The number one reason that men turn to domestic violence is that their fathers have taught them that women are less valuable than men. TV shows, such as The Family Guy, perpetuate the stereotype of the inferior female who is asking for a beating. The result is that 1500 to 2000 women die every day in the United States at the hands of their significant other.

Behind the Orange curtain, sizable women are beaten and abused on a daily basis. Some dare to go for help. Most remain silent and afraid, knowing that every day could be their last.

For older women, Orange County Adult Protective Services is useless. They go to homes with the idea of clearing the abuser. They fail to ask questions, like (1) is the man in the house keeping the women prisoner or under his control, (2) are women who are prescribed medication allowed to take their medicine, (3) are threats being made to keep the women from talking, (4) who is controlling the finances, and (5) are there any bruises that are being covered up.

A common practice is for men to shove their wives into walls and tables. Often, they grab their throats and threaten to kill them right in front of the children. Sometimes, it feeds into the abusers’ superiority to knock their wives on the floor and kick them until they cannot breathe. After the beatings, the abusers often demand that the victims clean up the mess made by the abuse. The victims cannot talk due to threats against other family members. The authorities in Orange County pretend that these common OC practices do not regularly happen.

Economic blackmail is sometimes the reason women stay Without any income, most women are helpless victims ripe for abuse. Often, the abusers prevent women from accessing printers to print out resumes, put money into private accounts and limit their wives’ food intake to times of submission on the part of the wives.

Their may be threats against the children or elderly mothers of women if they try to throw the abuser out. Abuse victims normally care about others. Their abusers usually just care about themselves and looking good in public.

The example in the title involved an industrial design student from Santa Ana’s Art Institute, whose mother had been prescribed licinopril for cruelty-induced stress that had resulted in dangerously high blood pressure. The boy withheld the mother’s medicine while making demands of the mother and prevented her from having car keys, twisted her arm and pushed her around when she tried to leave. Though abuse too often involves husbands kicking their pregnant wives in the stomach, this too is a form of abuse and a form of violence. When someone cries out for medicine as it is withheld, that can be just as lethal as any other form of violence. When the son of an abuser reacts in this way, you can be sure a future potentially lethal abuser is in training. If this Deathtrap kind of abuse continues long enough, the mother, soon, will be dead anyway. Reportedly, the boy’s father often speaks of the wife’s death as his fondest wish and the boy is willing to do whatever it takes to please his father.

There are no services that will actually end the violence and cruelty most Orange County domestic violence victims suffer. Police often side with the abusers, despite injuries and the risk of death to Orange County domestic abuse victims. In fact, Orange County, CA, is considered one of the most unsafe places for victims of domestic abuse to live.
