People of color and women, when it comes time to discuss the Redistricting Commission, and it's all Older White Males, you all aren't going to have a leg to stand on when you're complaining.

The commission is making an effort to reach out to women and people of color, but over 60% of the current applicants are older white men.

How embarrassing is it, in a democracy, when the majority of applicants are a minority of the population?

It's f'n embarrassing.

The ONLY party doing even close to OK are the Democrats, who have a lot of women applying.

Everyone else is sad.

The right winger Libertarians especially - they're almost ALL men. I bet they're mostly white and older, too. I know them libertarians. They suck.

I bet most are rich too.

If you know anyone who is smart - someone who can play a decent game of chess or bridge, who keeps up on politics and reads the paper, can deal with the bookkeeping, and has decent people skills so they don't get bamboozled by the assholes in Sacramento -- get them to apply!
