\r\n \r\nThe prolonged Israeli offensive against Gaza has triggered continued anti-Israeli \r\n demonstrations across the globe. Protestors around the world want to see a quick \r\n end to the violence in the Gaza and effective relief operations for the people \r\n caught up in the violence.\r\n

\r\n Abdul Hadi Falahat, president of Agricultural Engineers' Association, said, \r\n \"This is a day of anger around the world in solidarity with Gaza. When \r\n Jordanians from all political orientations demonstrate, they show that supporting \r\n Gaza is a duty for every Arab and Muslim.\" \r\n In the Egyptian town of Alexandria, demonstrators gathered downtown outside \r\n the Qaid Ibrahim mosque. Friday's protest was the largest in the city for \r\n years. Many protestors said Israel is fighting a losing battle. \r\n In Algeria, demonstrators took to the streets of the capital Algiers after \r\n Friday prayers. Algerian Police had earlier banned any type of gathering from \r\n taking place but thousands defied the ban and marched to show their solidarity \r\n with the Palestinians. \r\n And in Pretoria, South Africa, protestors gathered outside of the Egyptian \r\n embassy to show their support of Palestinians in Gaza. They criticized Egypt \r\n for not doing enough to stop the violence in Gaza. \r\n Mellissa Hoole, spokesperson of Palestinian Solidarity Committee, said, \r\n \"Thousands of people from all walks of life in South Africa and also \r\n immigrants from other countries around the world, are joining forces in their \r\n recrimination of Egyptian dictatorship in its complacency with the war crimes \r\n that Israel is committing currently massacring hundreds and hundreds of Palestinians \r\n as we speak in Gaza.\" \r\n Israel's government said on Friday it would press ahead with its offensive \r\n in the Gaza Strip, despite a UN resolution calling for an immediate ceasefire \r\n passed late on Thursday.\r\n
