WASHINGTON, D.C. In response to threats by America's\r\nmajor electric power companies, Samuel Wright Bodman, Secretary of\r\nEnergy, has demanded 800 billion dollars from the U.S. Treasury to be\r\nused as he sees fit or he will turn the lights out on the United\r\nStates of America. \"Look, if you don't pay up,\" he warned,\r\n\"things are going to get very dim, very dim indeed.\"<\/p>\r\n
\r\n\r\n<\/p>\r\n
The U.S. Senate and House pulled\r\ntogether a special session to review the demand which quickly\r\ndevolved into a discussion of how best to take advantage of the\r\nunusual request. Excited U.S. Senators and Representatives feigned\r\nconcern and postured as they mulled over options that would increase\r\ntheir chances of being reelected. Absent was any discussion on the\r\nobvious and less expensive option of just saying \"No!\" to\r\nSecretary Bodman's extortion.<\/p>\r\n

No where could the panic be felt more\r\nthan in the U.S. Media which feared losing its ability to transmit.\r\nFox News responded by parading a circus of hand-picked mafioso types\r\nskilled in painting vivid scenarios of what would happen if Bodman\r\nwasn't paid and paid fast.<\/p>\r\n

On the political front, presidential\r\ncandidate John McCain suspended his campaign indefinitely and called\r\nupon his opponent, Barack Obama, to do the same and join him in\r\npaying homage to the energy god in the hope that bending over and\r\ndisplaying his butt would take eyes off the polls in which his\r\nsupport was plummeting. President Bush called upon both candidates to\r\nmeet him in Washington for a private discussion on the matter.
