And the answer becomes... WE THE PEOPLE!

219 years and noone has ever stood up, gotten out on the street and campaigned for the government to follow the Constitution. 219 years this document for freedom has been ignored, combatted and abused and yet it is still there!

The time has come to tell the Constitution that we still love her after all these years and that we would marry her all over again!

Responsibility is the pivotal virtue on which all others reside. Here is what the founding fathers and a contemporary president (who at least paid some respect to the Constitution) had to say about the country, the virtuous character of the citizenry, the government, freedom and liberty.

Human rights can only be assured among a virtuous people - George Washington

No government can continue good but under the control of the people - Thomas Jefferson

Now a government is like everything else: to preserve it we must love it - Thomas Jefferson

\"Liberty can no more exist without virtue and independence than the body can live and move without a soul.\"

John Adams

and even more recently...

\"A state is nothing more than a reflection of its citizens; the more decent the citizens, the more decent the state.\"

Ronald Reagan (Reagan had some great quotes regardless of what one might think of his presidency, good or bad)

My own thoughts are that

1. we cannot continue to have a government of, by and for the people if the people have abdicated their responsibility

2. by becoming interested in our responsibilities as citizens and enforcing the government to adhere to its responsibility to follow and abide by the Constitution we are reminding ourselves of our own need to be virtuous and restoring these same principles in our own thought and conduct.

So our call to the people to demand that the government adhere to its own law as contained in the Constitution is also the call to the people to wake up, to rehabilitate and reacquaint ourselves with our own basic goodness and to live individual lives worthy of protection by a government of, by and for the people.

AND, BY THE WAY, IT's FUN!!!

It is about the most fun, extroverting, exhilirating thing that one can find to do.

Much better than playing Grand Theft Auto or seeing how many 24 oz beers and hot dogs one can absorb at the local baseball game.

If this activity catches on, then perhaps we can some day soon see the \"great national past time\" be, not the amusements that we have been given to choose from, but actually getting out there on the streets and campaigning for freedom and liberty. Freedom is so popular that this is a possible outcome of our energy faithfully directed.

Watch the videos and find out how you can help at http:\/\/constitution.fightbackforfreedom.com<\/a>

Sept 17th is Constitution Day

meet up with us at 7PM at Franklin and Vermont in los feliz

Sept 17th is Constitution Day<\/p>\n","contact":"garko@fightbackforfreedom.com","link":"http:\/\/fightbackforfreedom.com\/constitutionalrights.html","address":"","phone":"","parent_id":0,"mime_type":"text\/plain","summary":"Tell her you still love her after all these years.
