The Real Losers On American Idol

Are Its Behind Scenes Workers

with

Michael Winship, Pres., Writers Guild of America East

and

Vince Waldron, documentary filmmaker and author

The Writers Guilds of America and the Teamsters are

conducting nation-wide protests against \"American Idol,\" \"Million Dollar Password\" \"Farmer Wants a Wife\" and \"America's Got Talent.\" Many of the workers on these shows endure serious workplace exploitation including violations of state and federal minimum wage and overtime laws and benefits below the standard in the entertainment industry – how's that for reality TV?

On the road with the American Idol Truth Tour

Produced by Brave New Media

featuring

Teamsters Local 399 President Tony Cousimano,

former \"American Idol\" production asst Justin Buckles

and,

comedian Dante from \"The Last Comic Standing\".

Each year, American Idol travels around the United States holding auditions to find the next crop of stars for its program. As the show traveled to San Francisco, members of the WGA and former Fremantle workers and supporters held an event to

highlight the disparity between the company's success and its poor treatment of the people who make these programs possible.
