Obama affirmed the fact that he is insecure of Clinton and he cannot hold a candle to Hillary Clinton in rightist policy making. He proved that he is not the man for himself and he is being lead by other policy makers like the Kennedy clan.

The Filipino American community primarily the elite among democrats--immigrants, working and oppressed people are all left out. As usual neither candidate speaks in their interests, even thought the vast majority of workers are against the war and favor maintaining abortion rights.

Both Obama and McCain did not vote for the Filipino veterans equity bill, the most prominent Filipino demand. In fact, it is the Democratic Party with Speaker Pelosi that is holding up the house version of SB 1315 in the lower house.

Unclear on the War and the Immigrant Issues

Both Obama and McCain does not have a clear policy on immigrants. Both are for border enforcement and makes only token promises for the pathways to legalization and citizenship to the largely immigrant populated United States.

Although Obama supports the Federal DREAM Act and the drivers license in California and McCain initially the Kennedy Bill last 2006.both are mum on the legaliation of 5 million illegal immigrants and just supported enforcement first policy.

Obama’s strategy toward the Philippines, like McCain’s, is rooted in maintaining U.S. imperialist domination.

On social issues, the candidates showed only shades of difference. Obama said he was for maintaining abortion rights, but affirmed that he is not “pro-abortion. On same-sex marriage, both candidates declared their firm belief that marriage is between a man and a woman.

Obama went out of his way to assert his opposition to same-sex marriage, although he also opportunistically voiced opposition to Proposition 8, the California anti-same-sex marriage ballot measure. McCain supports the bigoted measure.

For progressive Filipino Americans, and its 5.5 million population in the U.S. the real fact exist. That the real struggle unfolds outside the Denver Democratic and the Minnesota Republican conventions.

Only people’s power and the mass movement can change the capitalist and oppressive society of America. And improve greatly the Filipino American community most specially the 1.5 milion illegal immigrant lot in America.

<\/p>\n","contact":"ajlpp_socal@yahoo.com","link":"","address":"337 Glendale Blvd. Los Angeles, CA 90026","phone":"213-241-0906","parent_id":0,"mime_type":"image\/jpeg","summary":"Democrat presumptive candidate Senator Barack Obama completes the turn to the right. \r\n\r\nBy picking the pro-War Senator JoeBiden as a running mate, he sought to appeal to the most backward sectors of the U.S. voting population and to show the ruling class that he is not really a liberal.
