Dana Hills, CA – This new rivalry of two southern California based teams provided all of the fans in attendance with a defensive spectacle they won’t soon forget. The Breakers got the ball first and the Quake defense set the tone when #24 Michelle Friesen intercepted #7 Lori Schnaider. After a quick first down run by #5 Monique Zaky, the offense was forced to punt three plays later. The first of 6 punts on the evening for the Quake. The punt by #9 Kara Williams was downed at the 4-yard line and the Quake defense started to salivate. After a fumble by the Breakers put the ball on the 6 inch line, #44 Angela Mims and a host of other Quake players tackled #28 Vanessa Santillian before she was able to get out of the endzone. Quake went up 2-0 with the safety. The Quake managed to build a drive getting all the way down to the Breaker 6-yard before calling on #81 Sarah Oliver to split the uprights with a 28-yard field goal. That was it for the scoring on the night.

The teams would trade turnovers and punts the rest of the game. The Quake defense would end up forcing three fumbles, register 3 interceptions and managed to keep the Breaker offense from getting inside the Quake 25-yard line. The closest they ever got to the endzone was the 29-yard on the last drive of the game when the Quake were in prevent defense. The Breaker defense was led by all world linebacker #87 Suzanne Linn who ended up making 90% of the tackles for their defense. The Breakers only suited 19 players but they played valiantly and with a ton of heart. Here are some of the statistical highlights from the game:

Offense
- #5 Monique Zaky – 24 rushes – 155 yards
- #3 Deb Kuntz – 5 of 14 passing – 62 yards – 4 first downs - INT
