KPFK now has a short list of "commentaries" written and voiced by 5 special "community" persons, one actor for each day of the workweek. Following last Thursday's five minute infomercial about Los Angeles Animal Control's new multi-million dollar warm and fuzzy pet death camp facility,
During this Tuesday's "Midday News" section, after an hour hosted by our local stalwart "Answer Coalition" spokesman Jim Lafferty, a three minute diatribe on global warming was solved with "Can't we all just get along" and the line: "We could switch to nuclear and gas fired power stations, develop hybrid cars, use more efficient appliances, and manage cropland to store more carbon."
Each "Solution" described is now heavily supported by the same corporations that drugged us into global warming.
Each requires more wasteful centralization of all power use, strengthening our present death-defying monopolies.
Then the "Guest Commentator" inserted a URL, defying 2007 published KPFK programming policies.
KPFK has produced almost zero programming (so far) on global warming, none on dispersing our power sources. We can thus end all new electric distribution and megawatt generator investments and put self-determination back in the hands of "consumers".
Los Angeles County made sterilization of all dogs (except "pedigree") mandatory BY LAW last year, and letting an un-sterilized cat outdoors in this city carries a 0 fine. KPFK didn't find this to be news.
Capitalisms sound just like Marxisms from a green POV.
Please recall Pete Townshend's Won't Get Fooled Again.
