IPM uses low risk methods to eradicate insects, weeds and other pests, eliminating a major source of indoor and outdoor pollution. It was the first in the United States to embrace the "Precautionary Principle" and "Right to Know" about pesticides used on school campuses. The policy led to the Healthy Schools Act 2000 and AB 405, which prohibited the use of experimental pesticides in California schools.

Today these policies have become models for school districts and communities internationally. Attendees will learn how to work with parents, teachers, community members, regulatory agencies, school staffs and local governments to implement IPM in their schools and districts.

For further information:

California Green Schools Summit

ph: 323.936.7125
