They use this \"fact\" to argue that scientists really don't know what they're doing. This is the \"junk science\" argument.

This might be one of the articles they're talking about. It's worth reading, because it doesn't say we're going to have \"Global Cooling\". It simply says temperatures in Europe were dropping, and they didn't know why.

It also says temperatures in the Equator were rising, and temperatures in other areas were changing. The scientists of their day didn't know why this was happening.

This doesn't refute the idea of global climate change. If anything, it reinforces it. The idea of a new Ice Age was put out there after people noticed that there were long term climate change trends. Though this article doesn't mention it, ideas were being floated around attributing the changes to pollution, and these ideas seem to have been borne out by current theories.

See also: http:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Global_cooling<\/a><\/p>\n","contact":"","link":"","address":"","phone":"","parent_id":0,"mime_type":"image\/jpeg","summary":"This image is a scan of the global cooling article that anti-climate change right wing trolls are always mentioning.","numcomment":0,"fileurl":"\/uploads\/2007\/09\/globalcooling.jpg","filesize":"182.9 kibibytes","article_url":"\/news\/2007\/09\/207215.php","image":{"original":"\/uploads\/2007\/09\/globalcooling.jpg","small":"\/uploads\/2007\/09\/globalcooling.jpgthumb.jpg","medium":"\/uploads\/2007\/09\/globalcooling.jpgmid.jpg"}},"attachments":[],"comments":[]}
