Watch out if the City of LA is the landlord, because the landlord wants to discriminate against poor people.\r\n\r\nThey're trying to sell Ramona Gardens, also known as the Hazard projects, to gentrify.\r\n\r\nThey're planning to sell the Mercadito, to gentrify.\r\n\r\nWhat is the future going to be for the residents?  Move to the desert?  End up homeless, living in some motel on vouchers?  End up living in someone's garage?  End up with a Section 8... in an era when the vouchers are being taken away?\r\n\r\nThe wave of money might be hard to fight, but if people unite to demand their right to live in the City, a right to maintain their families, and embarrass the architects of this class\/ethnic cleansing (aka, Antonio V.), maybe people can buy some time, and get a fair deal from the landlord.","author":"the grapevine","parent_id":203751,"mime_type":"text\/plain","created":"2007-08-05 14:10:34","modified":"2007-08-05 14:10:34","fileurl":""}]}
