I only briefly looked it over before deciding to approve the comment, as I am vaguely familiar with CrimethInc. I have requested the free material they offer and was quite impressed with the large amount of extra propaganda which accompanied the expected material.\r\n\tI started to browse through "Recipes for Disaster" and was quite impressed with some the ideas that it contained. In fact I was quite enthralled and forced myself to put it away after a few minutes as to get some work done.\r\n\tI told an acquaintance of mine about it and after browsing through it's table of contents he pointed out an anomaly. I had negligently skimmed over the table of contents myself and completely missed it. (Always thoroughly read the TOC folks!)\r\n\tThe suspect section is titled "Spell Casting". This section promotes the delusional belief that magic is real and anything is possible. They even include a full page of examples of magic, all seem to be false cause fallacies<\/a>.\r\n\tFor an organization that seems to have a lot going for it, this book has some glaring flaws. How can we respect and trust them if they can't follow some basic rules of reasoning. This is akin to having prayer included as a tactic and is extremely detrimental to the cause. Without solid epistemology we are doomed to fail at building anything better than what we have. If we can't all agree on what reality is in the beginning we are bound to have huge problems down the road.\r\n\tWe are in the midsts of a very serious situation I do not want to rely on people who are trained to cast spells to solve problems. I want to rely on people who are trained to survive and navigate the reality that we will be in, the one true reality that obeys laws of physics. The reality that is tested and testable. The reality that has been slowly described by giants among humans throughout history.
