On January 1, 2007, a new state law (AB 2865, Torrico) will require private child day care facilities to comply with new pesticide use recordkeeping and
notification requirements.
In addition, licensed pest control businesses will be required to submit detailed reports of their pesticide applications at private child day care
facilities. (Note: These requirements will not apply to family child day care homes.)
The Department of Pesticide Regulation has prepared an informational handout, "How IPM Can Help Child Day Care Facilities." It can be downloaded from www.schoolipm.info/daycare/ab2865_faq.pdf.
Also visit the School IPM Web site,
www.schoolIPM.info for more information on managing pests while minimizing risks to health and the environment.
