Police were searching for the visitor as a possible suspect. \r\n\r\nThere were no signs of a struggle or a robbery inside the home, where Barreto lived alone, police said. \r\n\r\nBarreto, who worked at City Hall in the late 1990s, was a partner in a Manhattan public relations firm. He also was a former radio journalist who served on the board of the National Association of Hispanic Journalists from 1993 to 1996, according to the NAHJ's Web site. \r\n\r\n"He was very energetic," said Dino Chiecchi, a past NAHJ board member who edits Hispanic publications for the San Antonio Express-News.
