\r\nGenetic\r\nEngineering Biotechnology (GE, GM, GMOs) evades Evolution's safeguards\r\nby injecting genes of one species into a totally unrelated species,\r\nsomething impossible in Nature.
\r\n
\r\nGM evades Evolution's safeguards, and may therefore give rise to PATHOGENS<\/span> that can\r\n-- and HAVE, many times --  caused crippling and deadly\r\nDISEASE EPIDEMICS <\/span>-- documented but unpublicised.

\r\nGenetic Engineering is also ideal for developing horrific biological\r\nand other military weapons --- sufficient cause to OUTLAW GM<\/span>.

\r\nGM contamination is virulent, spread by wind, bird, insect, animals and\r\ntravelling  human beings.  Co-Existence with GM is\r\ncompletely impossible, only fools or liars would say differently.<\/span>

\r\nGM\r\nhas contaminated  crops in areas of North America which dwarf\r\nthe UK\r\nand even Western Europe.   Planetary contamination is\r\ninevitable, if We\r\ndon't stop it.

\r\nThe Biotechnology corporations know oh-so-well how contamination\r\nspreads and spreads and spreads.

\r\nNow\r\nget this:   Through their political influence, these\r\nCorporations have\r\nbeen able to acquire the obscene, sacrilegious, and indeed revolutionary \r\nPATENTS on LIFE-FORMS<\/span>.

\r\nBefore\r\nthese revolutionary Patents on Life,  a farmer could have sued\r\n--\r\nsuccessfully without any doubt -- the Biotechnology corporation for\r\nhaving contaminated, poisoned his crops.
\r\n
\r\nHowever, given these Patents on Life (here, on the seeds<\/span>), the\r\nCorporation can -- and DOES, successfully -- sue the\r\nvictimised farmer for (Hold your nose) \"infringement of patent\".<\/span>
\r\n
\r\n[Our tainted, corrupted\r\npolitical systems allow this monstrosity.]<\/span>

\r\nThus the formula the reader might keep in mind:
\r\nGM Contamination + Patents on Life-Forms  equals Corporate\r\nOwnership Rights in the crops of victimised farmers.

\r\nThis formula spells the\r\nserfdom and ruin of all small family farmers on this planet.<\/span> \r\n(They are the majority of the population in Asia, Africa, and Latin\r\nAmerica).

\r\nThe\r\nChemical-Drug-Biotechnology syndicate and its Enforcers <\/span>(corrupted\r\ngovernments in the West and Third World, corporation-dominated\r\norganisations like the WTO, World Bank, IMF) have started a WORLDWIDE\r\nAGRICULTURAL REVOLUTION.<\/span> <\/span>

\r\nThey want to destroy small family farming, and have only gigantic\r\nCorporate GM Plantations with farmers working as serfs.

\r\n[This\r\nprocess is underway, especially in South America where the U.S.\r\nMilitary has begun to intervene on behalf of GM Plantations to crush\r\nfarmer opposition.]

\r\nAlready, according to the Research Foundation for Science, Technology\r\nand Ecology (RFSTE) in New Delhi,  40,000\r\nfarmers in India have committed suicide<\/span>\r\nprimarily as a result of the Corporate Enforcers' so-called \"free\r\ntrade\" policies --- dumping heavily-subsidised Western farm produce\r\nonto glutted Indian markets, pushing GM crops, insisting that Patents\r\non Life-Forms be accepted so farmers must sign contracts with GM\r\nCorporations and can no longer save seeds, etc.

\r\nThe Greatest\r\nRacket in History --- GM Contamination + Patents on Life-Forms equals\r\nCorporate Proprietary Rights in the crops of victimised farmers, and\r\nspells the serdom and ruin of small family farmers everywhere on this\r\nplanet.

\r\n<\/span><\/span>Question:<\/span>   <\/span>Was Mad\r\nCow Disease in important part caused by Genetically-Engineered Animal\r\nFeed<\/span>, <\/span>especially<\/span> animal\r\nparts from American cows injected with the genetically-engineered\r\nBovine Growth Hormone (rBGH, rBST)<\/span>?<\/span>
\r\n
\r\n
\r\nIt\r\nis generally believed that animal -- cow and also sheep -- parts given\r\nas cheap protein feed to cattle were principally responsible for the\r\ncatastrophic Mad Cow Disease.
\r\n
\r\nIt was rather shocking to find that the disease could jump\r\nspecies<\/span>, to human beings, and kill.
\r\n
\r\nReflect for a moment that Genetic Engineering is designed to jump species<\/span>.
\r\n
\r\nAnd now read about rBGH,\r\nrecombinant (genetically engineered) Bovine Growth Hormone<\/span>. \r\n
\r\n
\r\nI ask:   Was\r\nthis genetically-engineered bovine growth hormone,  having\r\ncaused\r\nserious diseases in cows whose carcasses were then chopped into feed, <\/span>the\r\nprincipal cause of Mad Cow Disease?<\/span>
\r\n
\r\n
\r\nThe GM cattle growth\r\nhormone<\/span>, rBGH (or rBST), for which Monsanto received\r\nFood and Drug Administration approval despite the opposition\r\nof FDA scientists<\/span>, poses serious risks of breast cancer,\r\ncolon cancer, and prostate cancer.<\/span>
\r\n       \r\n[The chief authority here is the research of Dr. Samuel Epstein,\r\nmedical doctor and professor of environmental and occupational medicine\r\nat the University of Illinois at Chicago's School of Public Health.]
\r\n<\/span>\r\n

<\/strong>This growth hormone has\r\nbeen widely employed in the U.S. and infested\r\nAmerican dairy supplies <\/span>nearly\r\na decade <\/em>before\r\nit was formally approved by the FDA, and this approval was given, it\r\nbears repeating, in spite of FDA scientists disapproving the hormone.<\/span>
\r\n<\/div>\r\n
  
\r\nIn\r\npractice, according to scientific evidence,  rBGH has been\r\nshown to\r\ncause numerous serious detrimental effects on the cow, and to\r\nbe\r\npotentially carcinogenic. These\r\neffects include mastitis, lesions in the thorax, speeding up of\r\ncirculation, reduced weight, proliferation of cells in the gut which\r\nmay lead to tumors, etc.<\/span><\/div>\r\n
 
\r\nThe animal suffering caused by this unnecessary\r\nhormone is simply inexcusable.<\/div>\r\n

Prof. Epstein has written:    \"GE milk is entirely different\r\nfrom natural milk: nutritionally, biochemically, pharmacologically and\r\nimmunologically<\/span>.  It is also contaminated\r\nwith pus and antibiotics<\/span> <\/u>used to treat\r\nmastitis, high levels of the GE hormone, and high levels of the\r\nnaturally occurring growth factor IGF-1. 
\r\n
\r\n<\/span>\"Elevated\r\nlevels of IGH-1 in GE milk have been strongly associated with high\r\nrisks of colon, breast and prostate cancers, besides promoting their\r\ninvasiveness<\/u>. \r\n(emphasis added)<\/span><\/div>\r\n

\"However,\r\nin spite of such well-documented scientific evidence, the FDA still\r\nauthorized the sale and marketing of GE milk in 1984, while blocking\r\nany labeling<\/span>.

\r\n\"In\r\ncontrast, both Canada and Europe have banned the sale of GE\r\nmilk.  The\r\nUSA is now isolated in the reckless and unscientific insistence on the\r\nsafety of GE milk.\"<\/div>\r\n

{For instance,  \"The Ottawa Citizen <\/em>[October\r\n23, 1998] reported the scene this way: 'The senators sat dumbfounded as\r\nDr. Margaret Haydon told of being in a meeting when officials from\r\nMonsanto, Inc., the drug's manufacturer, made an offer of between $1\r\nand $2 million to the scientists from Health Canada --- an offer\r\nthat she told the senators could only have been interpreted as a bribe<\/span>.'\"\r\n(Smith, p. 75)<\/div>\r\n

{\"But\r\nnot all the data made its way into the hands of the FDA. \r\nAccording to\r\nBurroughs [veterinarian Richard Burroughs, \"who had a lead role in the\r\nreview process of rBGH], cows\r\nthat developed infections of the udder, for example, were often dropped\r\nfrom the study, skewing the studies' conclusions<\/span>.
\r\n
\r\n{While the FDA and\r\nMonsanto said that they saw only a handful of cows develop udder\r\ninfections, <\/span>documents obtained through the Freedom of\r\nInformation Act revealed that\r\n9,500 cows from 500 farms were infected.  In addition to\r\nomissions of\r\ndata,  dubious statistics were applied that further masked the\r\ndrug's\r\neffects.<\/span>\" (Smith, p. 78)}<\/div>\r\n

The European Union has placed a ban on rBGH, so closely\r\nassociated is it with \"human breast cancer cell growth\" (\r\nEuropean Journal of Cancer, vol. 29A, no. 16, <\/em>1993,\r\npp. 2273-2279;  and the Lancet,  vol.\r\n351,, no., 9113, 1998, pp.1393-1396), <\/em>\"prostate\r\ncancer risk\" (Science, vol. 279,  <\/em>January\r\n23, 1998).<\/div>\r\n<\/div>\r\n

\r\nWell?  What\r\nabout Mad Cow Disease?<\/span> Could\r\nthe unfortunate cows, being fed rBGH-diseased parts of cattle\r\ncarcasses, have developed Mad Cow Disease as a result?

\r\nDon't ask for a\r\ngovernment-designated 'independent inquiry'.  The \r\nproverbial cows will come home before you get one.<\/span> <\/span>\r\nIndependent scientists and researchers, how about doing some testing\r\nand thinking?<\/span>

\r\nIII.  Conclusion\r\nand What To Do<\/span>

\r\n<\/span>Human beings and Nature, as we have known them, cannot\r\nsurvive in a GMO-Frankenstein world.

\r\nThe nightmare technology of Genetic Engineering Biotechnology, and its\r\nincestuous Patents on Life-Forms, must be OUTLAWED.
\r\n
\r\n<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span>
\r\nHow To Do It<\/span>?
\r\n
\r\nThere is only one way to overcome this extremely powerful, \r\nruthless Corporation-Government-corporate Mass Media axis.
\r\n<\/span>
\r\nIt\r\nis to conduct grassroots Public Education Campaigns to educate and\r\npolitically activate the General Public, university \/ college students\r\nin particular.<\/span>
\r\n
\r\nThe General\r\nPublic<\/span>\r\n!!   Stop forever talking to the Converted. \r\nTo get around the\r\ncorporate media's suppression and distortion of truth,  one\r\nmust talk<\/span>\r\nto people and go\r\ndoor-to-door with leaflets and vocal messages. <\/span>
\r\nAnd major efforts must be made to inform and activate <\/span>university students.<\/span><\/span>
\r\n
\r\nImportant Hints:

\r\n(1)   Concentrate on  university students<\/span>. \r\n
\r\n
\r\n And  senior\r\ncitizens.<\/span>
\r\n   
\r\nI\r\nspeak to you now, elder citizens like\r\nmyself.    Put moral purpose into\r\nyour lives and help rescue this planet and your grandchildren.

\r\n(2)   AVOID\r\nNGOs and all established organisations, especially large ones.<\/span> \r\nThey are not what they seem.
\r\n
\r\nTheir hierarchies and decision-making are corporation-influenced if not\r\noutright purchased.
\r\n
\r\nNever ever join\r\nthem.  Never ever give them Money. <\/span> \r\n

\r\nThe environmental field especially is riddled with<\/span><\/span> wealthy, prestigious, deceptive<\/span>\r\norganisations adept at dilutng and derailing environmental\r\ncauses,  GM in particular.

\r\n[I am thinking at this moment of one such organisation I have observed\r\nover a long period of time, in my view a very slick and dangerous FOE<\/span>\r\nof environmentalism, originally created by polluting Corporations to\r\ndeal with the growing environmental movement.
\r\nDon't go anywhere\r\nnear this one.]<\/span>
\r\n
\r\nWhen they talk about being 'practical' and seeking 'Coexistence'<\/span>\r\nwith GM,  let a red\r\nflag<\/span> go up.
\r\n
\r\nNothing short of OUTLAWING GENETIC ENGINEERING and PATENTS ON\r\nLIFE-FORMS will save us and our planet.
