Uploaded is video of Julia Butterfly Hill climbing up ropes to begin a permanent encampment in the trees of the South Central Farm. She has been joined by another famous tree sitter, John Quigley and singer Joan Baez. The three vow to remain encamped in the trees until the farm has been saved from people who want to destroy it and build a warehouse. There is also an encampment on ground throughout the 14 acre farm. The call has been made for anyone who would like to join the encampment and help defend the farm. The farm is located at 41st & Long Beach.
In related news: There are unconfirmed rumors that the “warehouse” is really a store for the Wal Mart corporation’s attempt to gain entry into the City of Los Angeles. The city has placed a ban on any new Wal Mart stores. And it is believed that Wal Mart is working to overturn that ban. The covert construction of a “warehouse” is seen as a possible first move by the corporation to bypass the will of the people of Los Angeles.
