Doubt in the Official 9\/11 Explanation

Signs and wonders still happen, sometimes even at the best air times. In December 2005, something truly outrageous played on American tubes. In its prime time news at 10 PM, the private TV station FOX40 aired a segment that exposed the official version of the September 11, 2001 terrorist attacks as a fairytale. The seven-minute report focused on the documentary film “Loose Change” by three students of the State University of New York. Their thesis was that the attacks on New York and Washington were the work of the Bush administration and its allied secret service circles, not of hardened Islamists.

SEEDLING AS ALARM

\tOn two evenings, unsuspecting US citizens were pestered with information that until then was only known to “conspiracy theorists.” Sequences of the burning twin towers were seen in which detonations were recognizable in their facades that sounded like explosions just before the collapse at several places and at an interval of fractions of seconds. In addition, photographs of the pentagon showed an impact hole whose size was not even approximately the span of a commercial aircraft. The film directors narrated the scenes. Not a single word of criticism, doubt or distancing by the reporter was heard. At the end of the segment, the reporter even suggested purchasing the film and gave the homepage www.loosechange911.com.

\tWith “Loose Change,” the filmmakers Dylan Avery, Korey Rowe (both 22) and Jason Bermas (27) reached a vast public thanks to FOX40. The subsidiary of the huge FOX-TV network broadcasting from the little city Binghamton (pop. 50,000) in the state of New York has the reputation of always backing the Bushists. But the firm’s philosophy obviously did not get around to Binghamton. How else can you explain that a TV station used for national unity spit in the soup of the rulers in Washington?

\tEven in far-away Germany, doubts in the official version of 9\/11 can only be expressed on penalty of media ostracism. For his television documentary – File 9\/11 Unsolved -, the filmmaker and author Gerhard Wisnewski suffered a professional disqualification. Because of their bestseller on September 11, Spiegel tried to stamp Wisnewski, Mathias Brockers and Andreas von Bulow as outcasts. Since then, the 9.11 file has been under lock and key in German editorial offices. Still “conspiracy books” are selling like hotcakes. Perhaps the FOX40 case is a sign that the system of media self-censorship will not function to the end of time. At least Wisnewski believes that. The US mainstream station has dealt “totally impartially with the theme,” it told Junge Welt. Individual journalists obviously cannot be controlled so simply any more. “The truth grows rampantly under the opinion concrete of mainstream media. One young plant or seedling after another finds its way to the surface,” Wisnewski exclaims.

CONSPIRACY FOR EVERYONE

\tFor the third time within 13 months, the 9\/11 skeptics in the US have had breakthroughs in the mainstream. In November 2004, Kevin Ryan from Underwriter Laboratories that examined and certified the steel in the structure of the World Trade center got into the news. In a letter to the National institute of Standards and Technology (NIST) entrusted with investigating the cause of the collapse, he wrote: “the buildings could have easily withstood the heat stress through burning jet fuel.” Earlier NIST had concluded after metallurgic tests that most of the steel elements were only exposed to a heat of 259 degrees Celsius and did not, as the Institute first claimed, “become soft and bend.” The New York Times reported at that time that NIST wanted to keep these findings secret.

\tRecently the renowned physicist Steven E. Jones from Brigham Young University in Utah in an NBC broadcast declared the WTC-towers did not collapse as a result of the impacting passenger planes. Others before him made that argument. However a public of millions had never heard before that the WTC complex collapsed with a controlled demolition. Jones caused quite a stir not only among “conspirologists” with this conclusion. His appearance on NBC did not unconditionally serve the discovery of truth. Rather moderator Tucker Carlson tried to discredit his studio guest with some success. After the broadcast, he was flooded with letters and telephone calls in which viewers gave thanks for the courage in taking up the theme.

\tNow the movers and shakers at FOX40 are surprised about the powerful resonance. They were not prepared for the national interest in their report on “Loose Change” as they say on the website of the station (www.wicz.com). There were far over 15,000 hits per day instead of the usual 1000 to 1500 hits. Two servers crashed over the onslaught – the structure of lies do not crash quite as fast.
