Vicente Fox is a disgrace and how about those american racists at the border. We need to stop this. We definately need a 50 foot tall wall on the border to protect and seperate those starving mexican citizens from confronting those american racists. This should fix the problem. Are they not providing jobs? \r\n\r\nExample Mexico; If what I have read is true, the illegal immigrants are not coming here because they don't have work in Mexico. Many have left jobs to come here. Why is that? The 11 million + Illegal immigrants cannot fix there problems here. If they have issues with there governments they have to fix them in there own countries, unless of coarse you want the U.S. to invade and creat a new government. \r\n\r\nNAFTA is not a one way agreement. Why did Mexico sign it? If it is hurting Mexico then the mexican citizens need to pressure there government to revoke it. Again, that cannot be done from here.\r\n\r\nThe U.S. is not the root of all evils, like most believe in this forum. It's a two way street. So why blame the U.S. for everything? It's certainly not that. If you want to lobby for more processed immigration from those countries, that's great. I'm all for humanity. And as always, I have an open mind. And of course, I do not trust Jim Gilchrist or the Minuteman Project. I denounced the Minuteman name and will continue to stand against it becaues of what I've seen and experienced and their apparent shortsighted reasoning for what they do.\r\n\r\nAs for people who are here against immigration laws, speaking generally, I don't have a knee-jerk reaction of fear and anger like many Gilchrist\/CCIR\/SOS\/Minuteman folks do. It doesn't bother me emotionally like that. I'm on good terms with them and they've been posting their progress, including against drug traffickers.\r\n\r\nAs for me doing a border watch, because of my open mind, curiosity, and awareness that there are poor people out there, I'm not sure if I would be personally motivated enough to actually go to the border with a cellphone anymore.\r\n\r\nI'm observing and keeping an open mind, all the same. But if it came right down to it, let's say I was down at the border for whatever reason, even to hang out and talk to the CA Border Watch folks, if I saw someone trying to sneak across the border in either direction, I would inform them and the Border Patrol.\r\n\r\nI'm not running about complaining about people here against immigration laws working and getting paid. I understand that their situations vary. It doesn't matter at that much to me at this point. However, if I were to be an employer if any kind, I would stick to hiring American citizens and legal immigrants.\r\n\r\nHowever, I have NO PROBLEM AT ALL with charitable groups who wish to provide food and other supplies to anyone here who needs it, including people here against immigration laws.\r\n\r\nAs for not wanting to talk to me at any protests, that's fine. The decline of manufacturing in Mexico (and the US) has put a lot of people out of work.\r\n\r\nOne possible solution is to raise a regional tariff on goods from some Asian and South American countries. It won't prevent companies from moving jobs southward, but it will keep them closer so that the economic impact will be kept local.\r\n\r\nRising oil prices help Mexico, which exports oil, but good things happen only if the money gets distributed downwards to the people, via higher wages resulting from better collective bargaining. Neoliberal\/capitalist policies don't often do that.\r\n\r\nWithin this context of regional free trade, the US still can't retain its manufacturing jobs.
