All of this certainly cuts down on the verbiage and gets to "the point" (and allows for more broad input from those whose spirit just really ain't oriented to 'composing' formal ideas of text, re: "book reviews"). Lastly, this way allows people to leave *traces* of their spirit in a less mediated way.","numcomment":1,"fileurl":"\/uploads\/2006\/01\/post-civ1.p117.gif","filesize":"371.9 kibibytes","article_url":"\/news\/2006\/01\/143418.php","image":{"original":"\/uploads\/2006\/01\/post-civ1.p117.gif"}},"attachments":[{"id":143419,"heading":"second page of unorthodox book review","article":"as you can see my less mediated remarks are in the margins, etc. of this book. It is a pretty good bet that you are not a peasant of any sort, including a naughty one, whatever that means.\r\n\r\n2. No one reads the kind of prose presented in that "review" except graduate students forced to read it by examination committees and forced to claim that they take it seriously - whether they do or not.\r\n\r\n3. Post modern mumbo-jumbo in general is a diversion from critical engagement with the world and its conflicts and is therefore objectively reactionary.\r\n\r\n4. I'd love to see one of these postmondernist "critics" produce a novel of the quality of Crime and Punishment of Hardy's Jude the Obscure. They are about as likely to do that as they are to develop and AIDS vaccine.","author":"Meyer London","parent_id":143418,"mime_type":"text\/plain","created":"2006-01-07 03:14:49","modified":"2006-01-07 03:14:49","fileurl":""}]}
