Fortunately, womens' assault centers are beginning to take these crimes seriously. For example, see:

http://www.c-a-t-c-h.ca

Kelly made a breakthrough here. Kudos to him.

Kelly's "cards" are business cards with links to our various web sites. Kelly writes:

"It was funny last year at the park near my house I was

working in a both for a friend while doing it I was handing

my cards out at the same time. Some cops did not even

want to talk about it and did not even want a card. They

got a short distence away and I beamed them in the head

with the audio spotlight....lol... They came back and asked

me for the cards!"

At close to $3,000 US, we won't be able to have many of these units in circulation, but we certainly applaud Kelly Taylor and John Allman of the United Kingdom, who have been using these units to get the attention of a reluctant public and public officials.

Eleanor White

Hamilton, Ontario

Canada

http://www.shoestringradio.net

> through-wall microwave version of this device

this new device they have is acoustical - this was something completely different using old technology

I use the same principle by taking 2 mic's in directional guides and processing *the difference* between them using software enhancement including sharp filtering, noise shaping and reduction, and controlled compression followed by expansion

a poor man's version of the same thing

the device you refered to from the 70's used a special very sharp risetime microwave signal modulated with audio which *only worked when aimed at a SPECIFIC area of the skull (above the ear) and was very sensitive to the test subject's position - if he turned or moved his head even slightly he could no longer hear the very low level signal*

only in a quiet room under very carefully controlled conditions..

what this enhanced shotgun mic does is pick a voice out of a crowd using acoustics - totally different
