Daniel was a spy in the Junta of this country, where he gathered evidence of torture and massacre by its members, and he played a role in transforming the revolutionary Tupamaros into offcial politics. Since 2005, the Tupamaros are represented in the Uruguayan Parliament.

After he returned home in The Netherlands, he was approached by an Italian judge who wanted to prosecute still living members of the former Junta, allegedly carrying responsibility of torture of Italian subjects, who are also still alive, be it with a trauma. He was invited to testify in Court, to aid in this case.

He has done this, in Amsterdam, and so his original position in Court, once, to defend himself against allegations of public offence, in bringing the issues concerned before the public eye, was reversed.

Having to accurately bring to mind again what had really happened though, he was taken to hospital with serious fysical problems, which according to one doctor were related to a form of post traumatic stress.

Therefore we, as visitors have been asked to not mention anything new, that would remind him of the horrors he once witnessed. He reported these to the United Nations after he escaped from his country with the help of, it has been suggested, mr. Lula, who would later become President of Brazil.

Because of the orders we had received to not mention anything traumatizing, we spoke about art. Earlier we had already spoken about the symbolic dimensions of art and the meaning and possibilities of the Pax Cultura, which was signed by all Latin American countries and the U.S.A. in the first half of the twentieth century, to help avoid the kind of thing he had witnessed.

In his new homeland, Daniel became an artdirector of the City of Amsterdam.

He once studied to become a priest, but became an atheist, presumably from his encounters with the Junta. Yet, I dared to mention a healing well in Tlacote, Mexico, if conventional medical treatment would prove to be insufficient.

This well is said to have been charged by Maitreya with healing properties. Cases have been reported of the cure of even AIDS here, but I can not personally verify these. I am also no spokesman of Maitreya, and have no particular religious affiliation. Maitreya is taken by some to be synonymous to Christ.

We are only freethinkers, and at least don't fear any further persecution by Nero.

Having agreed to not evoke anything traumatic from anyone, indeed, we have spoken about art, and we have shared some pictures as a form of innocence, that may help to heal us without the implications of any ideology. These pictures are not intended to be used in Court, but given in accordance with a policy of Tupamaros in what harmlessness really means, namely: trust in our own creative source.

Uruguay became one of the most ecologically conscious nations of South America meanwhile, and recognizes man in line with his environment to deserve the same respect and healing.

We do our best.

<\/p>\n","contact":"","link":"www.shareintl.org","address":"","phone":"","parent_id":0,"mime_type":"text\/plain","summary":"Speaking about art.","numcomment":0,"fileurl":"\/uploads\/","filesize":null,"article_url":"\/news\/2005\/06\/129265.php"},"attachments":[],"comments":[]}
